Yokohama Chinatown-the largest Chinatown in Japan and Asia dating back over 150 years. At present Chinatown has about 4000 residents and
is considered to be one of the most picturesque Chinatowns in the world. It has 4 gates, each painted in different color, representing 4 seasons of a year.
Starting your route at East Gate you’ll find many restaurants offering street food,
as well as all-you-can-eat course at a reasonable price.
Chinatown has so much food to offer and its delicious smell won’t let you pass by without trying it.
Travel tip: taste meat buns with soup inside, open it with chopsticks to let the soup out and enjoy it with delicious black vinegar dressing.
Food aside, Chinatown is a good shopping place if you are looking for something Chinese or even Feng Shui related.
To add the cultural glimpse to your journey, please pay a visit to two famous temples, located on its streets: Kwan Tai temple and Mazu temple.
Luxury outer and inner architecture will make you feel Chinese atmosphere within Japan.
During Lunar New Year the travelers can enjoy gorgeous celebration, filled with lion dances, arts, acrobatic performances and Chinese music
in front of the temples and on its streets.
Travel tip: Both of the temples are famous photo spots
as you can stand in front and show their magnificent structure in full size in your picture.
