The Kitanaka district was located near the tip of a sandbar that stretched greatly from Motomachi in the olden days, and is now a node between the Minatomirai district and the Kannai district. Events such as Bon festival dance and Marche are also held at Kitanakadorikita Daini Park. "Kitanaka Canal Park" is a nickname for a park facing the canal.
