Kikuya Western Confectionery

The Kiku family was founded in 1924 when there was a settlement in Yokohama. Motomachi-dori at that time was crowded with many monsieur and gentlemen as a commuting route connecting Yamate's foreign settlement and Yamashita-cho foreigner's factory. One day a Swiss lady brought in a recipe and asked her predecessor, a European-made cake maker, to bake a cake. When the ladies were very satisfied with the product, it became popular in Yamate, and cake recipes from each country were gathered one after another, and the Kiku family was able to make European cakes faster than any other store. We value the taste of Western confectionery taught by many women in the settlement, and Kikuya will continue to deliver wonderful tastes to you today.
