Message to the sky

Writer name: Mika Yajima Title of work: Message to the sky Year of production: 1999 Material: Wood stick cord coil, stainless steel rod / pipe cord coil, painted plywood, silver foil pasted aluminum plate , Stainless steel Frame size: H300 × W400 × D8cm Installation location: Yokohama Media Tower Gallery Escalator Side Born in Kochi Prefecture in 1965. Lives in Tokyo. This work is installed above the escalator that rises from the open gallery. A tower with a blue gradation that rises toward the deep blue sky. When I first saw this building, the artist thought, "I want to express the scene where this design comes to my mind and people exchange messages through radio waves." This work seeks a point of contact between the artist's unique style and image, while being aware of the combination with the entire building, the landscape from a distance, and the contrast between detailed handicrafts and metal.
