Yamate 234th Building

Yamate 234th Building is an apartment house for foreigners built around 1927 as a reconstruction project to have foreigners who left Yokohama due to the Great Kanto Earthquake return to it. It still exists in Yokohama City. It is one of the few remains to do. In the past, four dwelling units of the same type faced each other symmetrically with the central entrance porch in between, and overlapped vertically. Currently, the 1st floor can be used for general information on Yamate centering on the reproduced living room, and the 2nd floor can be used for exhibitions and meetings as a rental space.
