Opened in 1914 (Taisho 3). At that time, it seemed to be called "Takashina Station", but later it was renamed to the current "Shingashi Station" after the venerable "Shingashi River". The area around Shingashi Station is a place related to "Shingashi River Boat Transport," which once served as an aorta for transporting goods by ship between Edo and Kawagoe.
