The "former Yanagishita Residence" was built by the Yanagishita family, who had been engaged in the metal import business as one of Yokohama's leading "copper iron collectors" since the beginning of the Meiji era, and has been carefully preserved. It has been restored to its original appearance as much as possible, and was designated as a tangible cultural property designated by Yokohama City in 2002.
